Mardale Village Floating On The Astral Interacting At Lammas With The Physical World

Mardale village which is now no more - may well be floating around in the etheric atmosphere as a ghost village. When looking at old pictures and postcards of Mardale, in the Lake District -  a village which was removed in order to make a reservoir, the place still seems very - well - REAL

These are photos of our coven's Lammas celebrations and all sorts of energies were present.

Mrs Cotterill - Specially Gifted By The Gortonian Lodge - 4668, Of The Royal Antediluvian Order Of Buffaloes 6th June 1959

Who was Mrs Cotterill and what is the history of her brooch pin? This is something I very much wanted to know.

The little pin had an alure and I was immediately taken with it,when it came in to my possession - though originally the eyes were missing and I had to have them replaced. The inscription on the back says that the item was made for Mrs Cotterill on the happy occasion of her anniversary which was on June 6, 1959.

After a lot of scouting around, taking, for some reason, a long time, I found the brooch pin had been commissioned specially by the Gortonian Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order Of Buffaloes for Mrs Cotterill herself - but who was she?

Well, her husband was not a member of the Gortonian Lodge nor ever had been. The Gortonian Lodge disbanded in 1986 but in the 1950's the lodge met at The Waggon And Horses, in Gorton, Manchester.

I got the Gorton bit immediately, as I had heard of the place before, but nonetheless, it was only extreme tenacity and persistence that even gleaned the small amount of information I now have, which was only obtained after several emails, two telephone calls and a lot of patience.

Mrs Cotterill may have been the landlady of the Wagon and Horses in Gorton back in 1959 where the Gortonian Lodge met - this seems a strong possibility. Whoever she was, the Gortonian Lodge members all thought very highly of her, to have a little pin with a buffalo head specially crafted in her honour on the occasion of her anniversary.

I presume this refers to a wedding anniversary. It also seems feasible that Mrs Cotterill's husband was given a gift too, though that has probably disappeared over the sands of time.

Red Moon Over The Spirit Of Mardale Green

Red Moon, 28 September 2015
Somewhere on the Ether or inside the Astral Planes (spelled in this case like air plane - not prairie plain, for some reason), the village of Mardale Green will still exist like a shimmering Fata Morgana, except it will not be an illusion. The energetic imprint that the village will have made on the land over time, will still be there. Dowsers can probably pick up traces of this energy. In fact the reservoir that now fills the valley once occupied by Mardale will be infused with the actual Spirit Of The Village - for all time.
Mardale's Patron Angel, however, may well have moved on, although there are some spectacular full moon's in that area and the Red Moon Lunar Eclipse of September 2015 will have called down to the village once more, shining on the reservoir whilst transmitting red moon energy in to the dark water as the kinetic trace echo of Mardale Green stirs beneath the lake.

Occult Garden Natural Opulence For Midsummer Celebrations

There was an expectant feel to the air as we prepared to meet the sunrise on Midsummer's Day 2016. It was actually a bit chilly and not as wrm as it was when we were out at the same time the previous week. We had gifts to offer the Spirits Of The Ritual and this was performed in a nice semi-rural setting which is very in tune with nature in the raw. We also took some photos to capture the feel of the very special event. It actually took more energy than we thought it would but all in all was a good pleasing ceremony.

Ghostly Mardale - The Disappeared Village

There are a number of factual articles on  the internet about Mardale and the Dun Bull Hotel but I tend to wonder about the ghosts who must still be roaming around the reservoir that the area has now become. Surely there must be some really meaty ghost stories from this area - other than the famous ones written in green fronted books, semi tour guide style that are a bit flat and somehow very slightly lacking - like saltless food.
Hallow Bank is roughly about four miles from the village of Staveley and a mile or two from actual Kentmere Village which is a little further down and off to the left of this postcard photo. The larger of the two houses shown in this postcard - the one with the gable on the left - belonged to my late aunt and uncle. In the early 1980's it was converted in to two houses and both are still in the family.

I stayed at Hallow Bank a lot as a child and we would go up to Farmer Dickinson's to get milk which was still warm from the cow. As it was a private area walkers used to ask if they could come through. We also used to stay at Fold Howe which is just behind and not visible on the postcard.

Once whilst staying there during a storm, I saw a ghost bear with huge wings flying though the air.

There is a stream outside the house which was called Emily's stream after a former resident of the area. My aunt's house at one time belonged to the local doctor for the area in olden times.

My uncle said he once came downstairs to find the oven door had come off the Raeburn cooker and was laying on the floor. He could not explain how it got there.
